A fox which got its head stuck inside a plastic container of protein powder was rescued after “knocking on a front door for help”.
It is believed the hungry female got her head wedged inside the large white container while looking for food in Mexborough, South Yorkshire.
Luckily, a member of the public heard the animal knocking on her front door and alerted the RSPCA.
Staff had to use bolt cutters, scissors and a knife but eventually managed to release the tub from the fox’s head and she was soon back safely in the wild.
RSPCA inspector Sandra Dransfield, who was part of the team that came to the animal’s aid, said: “The plastic container looked like the tubs you can buy supplement powder or protein powder in.
